We are a Delaware limited partnership listed on the NASDAQ Global Select Market
under the ticker symbol "AHGP". We own, directly and indirectly, 100% of the
members' interest in MGP, the managing general partner of ARLP. We completed our
initial public offering ("IPO") in May 2006.
Currently, our only cash-generating assets are our ownership interests in ARLP,
which consist of the following:
. a 1.98% general partner interest in ARLP, which we hold through our 100%
ownership interest in MGP;
. the incentive distribution rights ("IDRs") in ARLP;
. 15,544,169 common units of ARLP, representing approximately 42.3% of the
common units of ARLP as of December 31, 2009; and
. a 0.001% managing interest in Alliance Coal, which we hold through our
