American Capital Agency Corp. ("AGNC", the "Company", "we", "us" and "our") was
organized on January 7, 2008 and commenced operations on May 20, 2008 following
the completion of our initial public offering ("IPO"). Our common stock is
traded on The NASDAQ Global Select Market under the symbol "AGNC".
We earn income primarily from investing in residential mortgage pass-through
securities and collateralized mortgage obligations on a leveraged basis. These
investments consist of securities for which the principal and interest payments
are guaranteed by U.S. Government-sponsored entities, such as the Federal
National Mortgage Association, or Fannie Mae, and the Federal Home Loan Mortgage
Corporation, or Freddie Mac, or by a U.S. Government agency, such as the
Government National Mortgage Association, or Ginnie Mae. We refer to these types
